Making Movies, Making a Difference: “Reel Working America”
This year at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, you won’t just see premieres of movies. You’ll also see the launch of a new group to bring together people who work in the film industry: Reel Working America.
A new partnership between Working America and IATSE, Reel Working America will offer a way for people who work in film, especially in independent film, to come together. It’s a great opportunity for filmmakers to advocate for themselves and have an impact on the important issues.
“We’re really excited to work alongside IATSE and bring a new generation of people from the entertainment industry into the labor movement,” said Chelsey Evans, state director for Working America in New Mexico.
As always, it’s about strength in numbers—working people can do more together. Reel Working America is a great new opportunity.
